This bombastic, iconoclastic indie circus and music showcase rises again Easter weekend following a two-year cryogenically suspended faux-burial.

Featuring the best of local, regional and national talent, Bohemian Carnival carries on its tradition of interactive entertainment, saturating the senses with 5 hours of non-stop kaleidoscopic action, over 50 stunningly skilled beauties and barbarians, and as much decidedly adult flavorings as you can stuff into your soul.

Indeed, for this resurrection, feast your eyes, ears, and whatnot on the fine, featured creatures to the immediate right of this mumbojumbo.

A BIG THANKS TO ST. GEORGE SPIRITS, SPONSORS OF THE EDWARDIAN BALL!

From the creators of The Ball...
Sing Me Malaise
You may or may not be familiar with the self proclaimed "Pagan Lounge Ensemble," Rosin Coven, founders of the Edwardian Ball in 1999. In addition to hosting the Ball for 13 years running, this oddly elegant and whimsical ensemble of 9 musicians has toured the US and abroad, and has created a handful of celebrated albums along the way.

Their newest studio release, debuted in 2012, is "Sing Me Malaise," an eclectic collection of everything under the midnight sun, from swingin big-band jazz arrangements to sultry ballads to drunken animal sing-alongs. Enough to make your fez spin, and now available on CDBaby.com and of course on iTunes. Please have a listen and get ready to see them on stage Jan 19th at The Ball!

Oh for Gorey's sake, what exactly is going on this year?
We certainly speak the truth when we describe The Edwardian Ball as "a whirlwind extravaganza of music, dance, theatre, art, fashion, circus, technology, oddities, vending..." (and so on and so forth ad infinitum). But what exactly is going on? Read on, dear Edwardians, as we attempt to explain! As always, questions and comments are welcome at queries@edwardianball.com!
Friday Jan 18 - The World's Faire!
Wanderlust Circus

The first night of our back-to-back Regency Ballroom events, The Edwardian World's Faire presents a Gorey-inspired night of music, theatrics, circus, fashion, gaming, and Edwardian-tinged rock n' roll. A little more rambunctious than the Saturday night affair, The World's Faire presents an interactive night of mystic games and theatre, bicycle-powered carnival rides by Cyclecide, a full exposition of steam-powered machinery by Kinetic Steam Works, circus sideshows, and this year, a complete circus extravaganza by Wanderlust Circus & Their Orchestra plus a full set from SF faves Shotgun Wedding Quintet!
Cyclecide Rides!
Don't miss the immersive MYSTIC MIDWAY, the Isle of Noises, longtime Edwardian disc jockey Delachaux, Vau de Vire Society, absinthe bar, and our now-famous Vendor Bazaar & Piano Saloon featuring the John Brothers Piano Company, plus a debut performance by The Fertile Void, a new musical project by Rosin Coven founder Carrie Katz. Our widely acclamied "Museum of Wonders" returns to the opulent Regency Lodge, an entire additional floor of the Regency dedicated to fine art, living statues, fortune telling, sideshows, and haunted mysteries to be discovered through self-guided tours from 8-11pm.

Step into a uniquely immersive world, where the turn of the century meets the world-to-be in a fantastic blend of performance and audience, of sights, sounds, and magic. Each year, in the depths of the night, Edwardian Ball founders Rosin Coven & co-hosts Vau de Vire Society bring a featured Gorey story to life onstage with original music, choreography, narration, circus acts, this year presenting one of his more mischievous, playful masterpieces, "The Doubtful Guest."
Friday's rides and games are cleared away, making way for the Ballroom Dancing that begins promptly at 8pm, followed by performances by Dark Garden Corsetry, "Belle of the Ball" Jill Tracy, DJs Miz Margo and Delachaux, and more. ... EXTRA-EXTRA ...
It is with an excited and honored voice that we announce the addition of Shotgun Wedding Quintet to the already fancy-packed line-up of Friday night's Edwardian World's Faire!

Shotgun Wedding Quintet

Forming in 2003, The Shotgun Wedding Quintet has worked to create an illicit blend of hip hop and jazz that’s rooted in tradition, but is ever looking forward. Each member of the band is a multi-instrumentalist, making use of samplers and looping-techniques to create a wall of sound as band members shift from instrument to instrument building continuous layers of music and rhythm.
